“Taste of Summer” Prints
"After Crawfish Season comes Hurricane Season. And in between a quiet anticipation, not entirely unlike the secret hope of children at Christmas, and the confirmed suspicion that wild winds are indeed churning the waters of the Atlantic and just beginning to pester the Dominican Republic . . . we cut our grass. And we fish. We eat our strawberries with Bluebell ice cream to the deafening buzz of cicadas. Our fingers get pricked and arms scratched by feral blackberry brambles. We pickle okra and pass homemade mayhaw jelly on to the neighbors. We barbecue meat and eat sandwiches made with toast, cold mayonnaise and tomatoes still warm from the garden sun. Storm or no storm, deliciousness is celebrated and we look forward to August muscadines, another school year and the advent of Football Season."
These "Taste of Summer" pieces are expertly-produced giclée images on smooth watercolor paper. Each comes signed by the artist.
